Katrin Kamrau  (1981) studied Photography and Media at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld. From 2012 to 2013 she completed the post-academic program at HISK, Gent, and in 2016 she was a researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. In her work, Katrin Kamrau explores the processes of image-making and perception in relation to the medium of photography. In particular, she looks into the social interactions, power structures, role models, and networks of relations that form around the printed image. Her work is exhibited internationally and has been granted numerous awards, like the GWK Young Artist Award in 2014 or the Prix Fernand Baudin Prijs in 2015.
