This album by Hanover-based artist Dieter Froehlich contains two broadsheets with images his series of works entitled Annenkleider 2015-2017.
‘Annenkleider’ (Annen dresses) are magnificently decorated garments for Madonna sculptures. Made by nuns and canonesses since the Middle Ages, they were put on the sculptures for special occasions. The name of these sculptural ornaments refers to the often hand-crafted depiction of the Mother of Mary.
