Please join us for Tique Salon #10 during the 4th Antwerp Academy Art Book Fair on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

During this anniversary edition of Tique Salon we’ve invited several artists and publishing houses for performances and interventions. Here you can find the list of participants and the events line up.

Kim Gorus will share a selection of artist publications focussing on the relation between image and language, authorship and originality/appropriation. In addition each work relates to Between Time and Timbuktu a tele-novella and publication by Kurt Vonnegut from 1972.

Her selection includes, among others, A Play by Uta Eisenreich & James Langdon (Roma 2016), The Ideal Form by Paul Hendrikse (Occasional Papers 2016) and Natalie Czech’s Je n’ai rien à dire. Seulement à montrer (Spector Books 2012).

Kim Gorus is the artistic and financial director of KultuurKaffee, a multidisciplinary arts centre at the heart of the Free University of Brussels (VUB). She was previously connected to St Lucas School of Arts Antwerp as a researcher, editor and lecturer, focussing on artist’s books and visual writing.

Thorsten Baensch, geboren 1964 in Heide / Deutschland lebt seit 1991 in Brüssel. Er ist Künstler und Herausgeber und arbeitete als Buchverkäufer und Produktions Manager in Köln, Hamburg, München und New York. Thorsten Baensch studierte Malerei in Brüssel und Mailand. 1995 gründete er Bartleby & Co. und publiziert Künstlerbücher und Editionen.

Bis dato publizierte Bartleby & Co. mehr als 60 Bücher und Editionen und ist damit in zahlreichen angesehenen Sammlungen vertreten.

Tique Salon is a new monthly evening event dedicated to art publications, with lectures, discussions and presentations by makers, designers and publishers.

At Tique Salon #1, Belgian photographer Nick Geboers will talk about the evolution of his book Recurring Walks, the Dutch artist Celine van den Boorn will present her new publication The Promise and Belgian graphic designer Ward Heirwegh will give a presentation about his experimental platform Sleeperhold Publications.
